In general, the receive beamforming units are restricted to a single beamforming scheme which is generally delay and sum (DAS) beamforming.
In this work a novel reconfigurable beamforming core is proposed which can switch between delay and sum (DAS) beamforming and delay multiply and sum (DMAS) beamforming.
Regions of more clinical prominence could be reconstructed through DMAS and less prominent regions with DAS .
